Meet Elder Wright

Elder Anthony Wright was born January 29,1950 in Chatham, Virginia. He attended public school in Chatham and Gretna Va. and continued his education at Danville Community College.  Elder Wright received an associate degree in 2003 from the Grace Institute of Biblical Studies, Franklin Tn.  Elder Wright enjoys and has attended and participated in many different Bible Conferences.  His hobbies include traveling and antique cars.

Elder Wright met and married the love of his life, Avis Keene on August 4, 1973. They moved to Winston Salem on their wedding date and have lived here ever since.  They are the proud parents of 3 children, (all grown ) and 5 grandchildren.

Elder Wright joined Sovereign Grace Tabernacle in 1982 and served in many different ministries. He was ordained as a minister of the gospel in 1991 under the leadership of the late Pastor David L. Wilson.  He served as an Elder at Sovereign Grace from 1991 to 2006 until he was called to Pastor the flock at Rock Hill Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Greensboro N.C.. After leaving Rock Hill, Elder Wright joined Word Fellowship Reformed Baptist Church in 2008 and served as an Elder until 2011. In 2011 he felt called to return back to Sovereign Grace Chapel in Winston Salem. In 2014 he was reinstated as an active Elder.
